Create and update locations

Create locations, maintain address and geolocation details, and update location options used by transports, costs, and planning.

Use locations to save reusable pickup, delivery, terminal, parking, and drop-and-hook places. A location can include address details, map coordinates, opening hours, notes, and options used later in transports, costs, and planning.

Open directly: Locations.

Open locations

Open Overview, then select Locations. You need access to the Locations overview to create or update locations.

Locations overview with the Add action

The Locations page lets you search existing locations, check whether a location already exists, and open a location for editing.

Create a location

Select Add to open Create new location.

Create new location form with name and address fields

Start with the location name in Type name.... Add the address details, including Address line, postal code, city, country, and any available latitude and longitude.

Use clear names and short names so planners can recognize the location quickly in transport screens.

Set address and map details

Complete the address fields as far as possible. Latitude and longitude help planning and map views use the correct position, especially when the street address is not precise enough.

If the app finds similar places near the same coordinates, you may see Nearby Locations Found. Check the nearby results before continuing. Only create a new location when it is really a separate place.

Set location options

Turn on the options that change how the location is used in planning and transport work.

Location options for parking, drop and hook, cargo card, costs, and opening hours

Parking marks the location as a trailer drop-off or parking place. Drop and hook marks the location for drop-and-hook work, where a driver can leave or pick up a trailer. Cargo card required shows that a cargo card is needed at this location.

Use Opening hours to record when the location can receive or release goods. Add notes for practical instructions that planners or drivers need to know.

Optional cost and terminal fields

Some fields only appear when the related setup exists for your company. Terminal and port options depend on enabled integrations. Customer and supplier cost selectors depend on available cost records.

Use these fields only to link an existing location to existing cost or terminal data. Cost and agreement setup belongs in the related cost and agreement articles.

Save the location

Review the name, address, coordinates, options, opening hours, and notes. The location is only created after you use the final create action in the Create new location form.

After creation, the new location is available from the Locations overview and can be used in transport and planning workflows.

Update a location

From the Locations overview, open the row action for the location you want to change. The Location details modal opens with the current values.

Edit the needed fields, then select Save. The changed values are used the next time the location is shown or selected.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I see a nearby location warning?

You see Nearby Locations Found when similar locations are found near the address or coordinates. Check the existing locations first so you do not create duplicates by mistake.

When should I mark a location as Parking or Drop and hook?

Use Parking for a place where trailers can be dropped off or parked. Use Drop and hook when the location supports leaving one trailer and picking up another.

Why can I not see terminal or cost fields?

These fields only appear when the needed company integration or cost records exist. Ask an administrator to check the terminal, cost, or agreement setup.
